Went to the local car show with my 3 kids so my attention was limited. I focused on the most Oppo cars rather than the pre-71 Big 3 cars with more displacement than I can count. They are cool, but not very interesting. And somehow there was the most mind blowing car that you have to click in order to see!
mmm tasty clickbait (I swear it’s worth it and I apologize in advance for the potato phone pics) (and for reposting, but apparently 10pm friday is a low oppo traffic time, losers. I thought these cars deserved a second chance)
First off is the Metropolitan Nash I caught pulling in just as we were leaving. It seemed to be having some engine trouble, but he got it running. Appeared to be stock as far as I could tell.
The Patina look was a bit too popular today. This one at least had some work on it to make it interesting.
For you off-road opponauts
Corvair Spyder 4 Speed...
...AND Turbo. Suck on that Porsche 911.
Saw a 4 door Corvair on a side lot. Very good looking car.
Cool Camaro logo on a split bumper car. I hope you enjoy my ‘artistic’ focus.
A clean Dodge Rampage.
1982 TVR Tasmin! Overheard another dad excitedly talking to his daughter about the 2015 5.0 Mustang parked next to it like there wouldn’t be a million of them on the road by the end of the year.
It is rumored that this TVR’s design was inspired by the owner’s favorite cut of cheese.
Powered by a 2.8l Cologne V6. Not TVR insane, but certainly not bad.
What is this?
This is... unfamiliar... or is it?
BECAUSE IT’S A MOTHERFUCKING TRABANT! At a small car show in a smaller town! How could this get here in the land of bourbon and freedom? Well, I’ll tell you. The car is currently owned by a Hungarian immigrant and her husband. This is a 1981 Trabant 610 S, built in Hungary and owned there for 25 years. It was then bought and imported by a museum in Mississippi. Then sold to a man in Louisiana. Apparently the wife had told her husband about the humble little Trabant and he wanted to track one down for them. Here it is. The owner seemed pleasantly surprised that I actually knew what it was. It was in amazing shape, I couldn’t stick around to pepper the owner’s with questions of originality or even get a proper full shot or the details I wanted. Kids these days just don’t appreciate Eastern Bloc transportation (Actually, my oldest was excited about nearly every car and I couldn’t be prouder). But seriously, the is the absolute LAST car that I would have expected to show up to a show like this. 80% modified muscle cars/hot rods and a clean little Trabant. Still thinking I ate some bad macaroni and cheese.

Awesome show Trabant, TVR, and 2 Corvairs!
Split bumper was the RS appearance package. I only know this because my uncle has a 1970.5 Camaro SS without the RS package.

There were 4 total, a 1st and 2nd gen coupe as well, but I could only take so many.
